Planting Worms

I have been planting worms as of late,
into cinnamon-deprived dirt. Not sand.
Their joy and wrath are the envy
of those stuck on Caladan.

Dirt is still warm and inviting,
like a mother nursing a child in hand.
Nutrient rich and not trapped in a seitch
they inspire the ones on Caladan.

Yet when the skies break open
to drown the dirt and dam
their screams and death rattles are an
insult to the Worms on Caladan.
