Scattered Snowflake Thoughts

Hey all! It seems this week is going to be more of a personal update. Even though I have a few tasty posts brewing on the side, I have like… limited attention span. But in a very peculiar way. It is as though I’m shifting in my habits that I haven’t been able to pinpoint just yet.

Which is surprising, given that I have a creative resurgence occurring. What do you call it when you unexpectedly shift in modality? At some point I was feeling overwhelmed with thoughts and papers around me, that I ended up doing scrapbooking for the first time? Like, I’ve never done that. I’m very confused. Also, I’ve found that my thoughts are all boxed up wrong.

Cluttered. I feel very cluttered. I’m unboxing a random story idea that I didn’t expect to like. It’s difficult to tell if it’s worth completing, but there are some good ideas from a side quest story. Yes, it is D&D inspired. Fun to experiment with that magical process for a change. Always love a good study of a magic system. If you ever have the chance to reflect on your favorite magic systems, I highly recommend. I suspect that reflecting on various magic systems indicates your level of interest in details or abstract ideas. And the rules! Talk about compartmentalizing. The Magicians trilogy goes into some wild detail of magic rules, which does balance the large diversity of morality.

However, I don’t know how far I want to take this project. Is it just a diversion? Is it a coping mechanism? Or maybe it’s just a bit of whimsy as my brain attempts to recollect itself.

My hope is to enjoy this winter break. Cozy up with my cat and lap top, crafts nearby. I finish reading some half read books, and I finish up on last project before the end of the year. Extra points for each draft I manage to convert to a Done.

Thank you for following along. I wish you health, love and safety wherever you are. You are lovely, you are wanted, and you are needed to help make this world just a bit better. Persist, resist, and stay golden.
