The silent descent of wisdom is quick,
In a perilous grasp ‘neath muted wings.
Its talons pierce the brain rendered fear sick,
Our blood freezes in belated warnings
As our nocturnal hearld redirects
The scavenging prey to enlightenment.
Elatated to fly, then the mind corrects
To flee the dangerous enviornment.
But we cannot escape our growing dread
Of realization. Death a heartbeat away
Amongst the captors children and twig bed,
Torn from the comforting warmth of dear day.
Wisdom, give mercy to small mundane plans
That keep us busy from dangers at hand.

One response to “Owl Messenger Taking Control”
Brilliant poem with lots of great phrases. It’s got a very unusual timing within a traditional structure. Makes you read it carefully. The last line is especially good for me right now. Great work!
